TFT Set 14 Guide: How to Play Rapidfire

How to Play Rapidfire — TFT Set 14: Cyber City

Welcome to our trait guide, where we’ll be covering the Rapidfire trait in the new TFT Set 14: Cyber City. In this guide, we’ll explain how Rapidfire works, cover the different champions, and give a quick rundown of the other potential traits you could branch into.

Explore all of the new Set 14 traits here!

    How TFT Rapidfire Works

    Rapidfire Trait Bonus

    TFT Rapidfire Trait

    Champions: Kindred 1g / Kog’Maw 1g / Twisted Fate 2g / Draven 3g / Zeri 4g

Your team gains 10% Attack Speed. Rapidfire champions gain more on each attack, stacking up to 10 times.

    • (2) 4% AS per stack
    • (4) 10% AS per stack
    • (6) 22% AS per stack

Rapidfire is a simple and straightforward trait that grants an Attack Speed buff to your team. Investing just two pieces nets 10% Attack Speed across the board, which is a great low commitment option to dip into.

Additionally, Rapidfire champions themselves gain more Attack Speed with every attack, allowing them to stack a considerable amount more up to ten times. This is a great baseline for these AD carries to work with, as all you’ll really need to build is some extra AD to take advantage of the trait.

    Rapidfire Synergy

Here’s a rundown of the traits you can branch into from Rapidfire:

    • Kindred – Nitro / Marksman
    • Kog’Maw – BoomBots
    • Twisted Fate – Syndicate
    • Draven – Cypher
    • Zeri – Exotech

While there isn’t any overlap between traits, Rapidfire’s 10% team buff makes it a flexible grab, allowing you to gain an early benefit while keeping your options open. Besides, going vertical doesn’t provide anything beyond more Attack Speed, and requiring 4/6 pieces won’t be doing you any favors.

    Kindred Nitro Rapidfire Marksman 1g

Kindred is rather simple early AD carry on the surface. However, the real standout is the combination of traits, and having three at 1-cost is excellent. Rapidfire and Marksman is a great combination, pairing Attack Speed with Attack Damage. In addition, having Nitro allows Kindred to remain relevant beyond the early game if you end up leaning that direction.

    Kog’Maw BoomBots Rapidfire 1g

    TFT Set 14 Kog'Maw

    [Link to Champion Page]

Kog’Maw is as basic as it gets when it comes to your usual AD backliner. He attacks fast and deals damage, which naturally fits well with his traits. Rapidfire also helps accelerate the rate of BoomBots’ missiles, since more Attack Speed translates into more damage. A solid early pickup for the traits alone, although likely to fall off later on.

    Twisted Fate Syndicate Rapidfire 2g

    TFT Set 14 Twisted Fate

    [Link to Champion Page]

Twisted Fate passively gains Ability Power with each attack, making Rapidfire a great way to help him scale during combat. His active ability Ace High throws a card at the target, along with the next nearby enemy, dealing magic damage.

If you decide to give Twisted Fate a Kingpin hat, the ability instead creates special cards that deal various added effects. Red card deals splash damage, Blue card deals bonus true damage, and if you’re lucky to hit Yellow card, it grants gold.

    Draven Cypher Rapidfire 3g

    TFT Set 14 Draven

    [Link to Champion Page]

Draven’s Cache Hack ability hurls two massive axes towards the largest group of enemies within a line, dealing physical damage to each enemy hit. In the beginning, Draven doesn’t really have any extra synergy with Rapidfire. However, once you exchange Intel for the Cypher bonus, he’ll gain a considerable amount of Attack Damage, complimenting Rapidfire and his ability.

    Zeri Exotech Rapidfire 4g

    TFT Set 14 Zeri

    [Link to Champion Page]

Zeri creates lingering “echoes” with her Hyperthread Rush ability. When cast, she creates an echo of herself that deals a portion of her damage, using her AD and Attack Speed. The echoes last a duration based on AP (or until Zeri dies), meaning you may need a bit of a hybrid build to keep them active longer.

The combination of Rapidfire + Exotech gives Zeri a ton of Attack Speed, further accelerating any echoes that are created to join the fight.
