TFT Set 13 Guide: How to Play Quickstriker

How to Play Quickstriker — TFT Set 13: Into the Arcane

Welcome to our trait guide, where we’ll be covering the Quickstriker trait in the new TFT Set 13: Into the Arcane. In this guide, we’ll explain how Quickstriker works, cover the different champions, provide notable Augment choices, and cover some potential team comps.

Explore all of the new Set 13 traits here!

    How TFT Quickstriker Works

Quickstrikers are basically the “Duelists” of Set 13. Every set has a Class that buffs Attack Speed in some shape or form. For Quickstrikers, they’ll have more Attack Speed the lower Health the target is. They’ll also move faster, which is good for melee units that need to walk toward the enemy backline.

Overall, the Attack Speed bonus feels very snowbally. If you’re ahead in the game, you can certainly mow down enemy units. However, if you fall behind or your board is weak compared to others, it’ll feel even weaker.

This was generally the case for Duelist traits of the past, so overall, the feel of the trait should be quite similar.

    Quickstriker Trait Bonus

    Champions: Akali 2g / Nocturne 2g / Twisted Fate 3g / Ambessa 4g

Quickstrikers move faster and gain Attack Speed, based on their target’s missing Health.

    • (2) 20-60% AS
    • (3) 30-80% AS
    • (4) 40-100% AS. On target death, Quickstrikers dash to a new target and gain 200 shield for 3 seconds.

    Quickstriker Synergy

Here’s the list of traits held by the Quickstriker units:

    • Rebel
    • Automata
    • Enforcer
    • Emissary
    • Conqueror

Considering there’s only 4 Quickstriker units, it’s unlikely there would be any other trait overlap. When it comes to small traits like theese, it’s quite rare to play 4 Quickstriker unless the meta evolves into a very speficific place where it’s good.

Since Akali and Nocturne are both 2-cost units, there’s potential to do a reroll comp featuring both as carrys. From there, you can add Ambessa and TF once you level up to further buff them up. However, there are other traits that may take priority, so things are unknown for now.

A safe thing to try would be pairing two Quickstrikers together and putting in complimentary pieces. An Emblem would help alleviate board space issues, but you can’t always rely on a Spatula.

    TFT Quickstriker Champions

    Akali Rebel Quickstriker 2g

Akali is back, and once again she is a 2-cost unit. Her ability is single target AP damage, and she dashes away and back to the target to hit. Her ability will also mark the enemy, making them take more damage.

This ability is quite nice as it allows you to play Akali in the frontline (hopefully). Her ability will let her dash back and drop aggro, only to go back in and finish the job. However, Attack Speed isn’t a clear buff for Akali. It will definitely be nice, but her kit doesn’t seem to particularly need it.

But, the Attack Speed will let her gain mana faster which can be the difference between dashing away to safety, or dying before casting.

    Nocturne Automata Quickstriker 2g

    tft set 13 nocturne

Nocturne’s ability is very simple, and it empowers his auto attack to also apply a bleed onto enemies. I’m going to assume that this bleed will stack, which then would synergize with the bonus Attack Speed from Quickstriker.

Nocturne and Akali are both 2-cost units, and there is potential for a reroll team comp using both as carrys. However, this will also depend if the supporting traits (Automata and Rebel) support this playstyle well.

    Twisted Fate Enforcer Quickstriker 3g

    tft set 13 twisted fate

    [Link to Champion Page]

Twisted Fate is the only ranged unit of the Quickstrikers, and his ability is a mix of everything. He’ll cycle between three color cards. One will heal an ally, one will stun, and one will deal damage. This is a nice all around ability for any team using Quickstrikers.

Most notably, Twisted Fate bring the Enforcer trait, which allows you to flex into units like Caitlyn (Sniper/Enforcer) or Vi (Pit Fighter/Enforcer). These are both high-cost units that can build toward an endgame board.

    Ambessa Emissary Conqueror Quickstriker 4g

    tft set 13 ambessa

    [Link to Champion Page]

Ambessa is the latest champion in League of Legends and is also making her way to TFT. She has two abilities, one ranged and one melee, and she will swap between both. Overall, Ambessa looks to be a strong carry as she can be buffed up by three traits.

The Emissary trait is technically half a traits since you only get the full bonus at (4), but Emissary (1) will still give her a natural buff. If you’re looking to play Ambessa as your carry, I’d look to start with 2 Quickstriker and 2 Conqueror. From there, you can see what other high-cost units you can add to further enhance the team.

    Best TFT Quickstriker Augments

In general, Augments like Crest and Crown will always be good, but there are definitely more notable ones to explore and discover. As we make our way to the PBE, we’ll be sure to test a variety of combinations and update this article with what we find.

    TFT Quickstriker Team Comps

The set has yet to even come out on PBE yet, and unfortunately, our team was unable to playtest the Set this time around. While we can’t recommend team comps at the moment, we’ll be sure to come back and update this article once we have a good feel for things.

Thanks for Reading! If you want to try and come up with your own team comps for Set 13, check out our Team Builder. For a full overview on the new set, check out our TFT Set 13 Reveal Page.
