TFT Set 11 Guide: How the Exalted Trait Works

TFT Set 11: Inkborn Fables — A Guide on the Exalted Trait

Welcome to our guide where we’ll cover a new mechanic in TFT Set 11, Exalted units. Unlike other traits with specific units like Ghostly Caitlyn or Dryad Azir, Exalted will be a trait that is active on different units every game.

Because of this, the Exalted Trait will let you play something fresh every game. Finding the right combination of Exalted units and regular units will be a fun puzzle to solve as you play.

If you haven’t checked out our Set 11 info yet, you can check out our Reveal Page, or check out this video summarizing the new Set.

    Exalted Trait Bonus

    Exalted:

    TFT Set 11 Exalted Trait

Your team gains 4% bonus damage, plus more based on your level. After combat, store 1 XP in a Soul Core. Sell the Core to claim the XP.

    • (3): 1% Damage per Level
    • (5): 2.5% Damage per Level

The actual Exalted trait does also provide a nice stat buff for your entire team. By the time you hit level 6, the Exalted trait will be granting 10% bonus damage to the entire team.

While this isn’t exactly on par with other traits, it’s still respectable. Activating the trait early is also very advantageous.

After every round, your Soul Core will store 1 XP. You can then sell the Core to claim the XP. XP is essentially equivalent to Gold, making this trait essentially giving you an extra Gold every combat.

Note: You can sell the Soul Core whenever, multiple times throughout the game. However, you may want to stay a lower level to find some low-cost upgrades before moving onto higher levels.

    Exalted Combinations

You’ll hear that Exalted units make every game feel different, but that’s not technically completely true. While the Exalted units will change every game, there are a finite number of Exalted combinations.

The units that are Exalted aren’t just completely random, but will come from specific combinations.

As a general rule, there will be 5-6 Exalted units per game. They can be all 1-cost, all 3-cost, or a mix of 1-5. Some Exalted combinations will have trait overlaps, while others will not.

Here’s a list of the potential Exalted Combinations:

Keep in mind that these combinations can be changed during patches or hotfixes. Some may be removed, others may be added, or some might have small changes.

    Exalted Augment

TFT Set 11 Venerable Piggy Bank

“Your Exalted Soul Core gains gold instead of XP. If you lose combat, it gets 2 bonus gold! Gain 2 Exalted Champions. If there are no 1 or 2-cost Exalted champions, get one 3-cost instead.”

With Exalted also comes a special Exalted Augment, available in the Gold tier. This Augment is yet another reason to potentially save XP in your Soul Core instead of selling it.

If you find this Augment, you can turn your Soul Core into Gold generation instead of XP. In general, Gold is better than XP because you can level up with it OR roll for units. You can also hit higher interest thresholds if you have more Gold.

If you hit this Augment while playing an Exalted comp, you’re going to have a much better time for sure.

    Exalted Team Comps

Because there are specific combinations of Exalted units, players will be able to plan for specific scenarios. If a player wanted to, they could play enough games to practice each set of Exalted units and have a plan for each one. Considering there’s over 60 combinations, this may not be feasible.

However, as the player base as a whole plays games, certain combinations will stand out compared to others. As players find this out, we’ll definitely be updating our Tier List to include these comps.

While it’s still too early to know what strong Exalted comps exist, here’s a potential example.

    Exalted Mythic Reroll

Exalted Combination: Cho’Gath, Lux, Aphelios, Tahm Kench, Morgana

TFT Set 11 Exalted Mythic Team Comp

    [Link to Builder]

Kog’Maw Reroll can be played with units like Caitlyn and Illaoi in a regular game. However, with this set of Exalted units, you can take the team comp in a different direction.

Aphelios lets the comp flex into Fated with units like Thresh and Sett, while Morgana can provide Ghostly. The Soul Core can help you reach level 9, fitting in more powerful units.

This example uses a Ghostly Emblem, but there’s a ton of variations you can take this core of Exalted units. With the current bonus, Exalted at level 8 will grant 24% bonus damage across the entire team, which is very good.

    Conclusion

All in all, Exalted is bringing a new fresh mechanic to TFT. While it’s not game changing like Augments was, it’s adding a lot of replay value to games.

Every game can be a little bit different, and you can have a lot of fun trying out new combinations in your game, and have a unique feel to every game.

Exalted units will be a fun thing to tinker with. As time passes, people will definitely learn what combinations and strategies are strong, so stay tuned for updates on that.
