TFT Set 10 – Remix Rumble: New Portals Guide

    TFT Set 10 Portal Guide

TFT Set 10: Remix Rumble is bringing back the Region Portal mechanic from Set 9, but with slight differences. We’ll be covering all of the confirmed Portal Effects we know so far, and we’ll continue to update this guide on any new additions.

    How Portals Work

If you didn’t play TFT in Set 9, here’s a quick rundown of how Portals work.

    TFT Set 10 Portal

At the start of the game, players will get the option to vote for a “Portal.” These portals will apply a special rule to the game. After some time, the game will randomly choose one player’s vote. The special effect will then be applied to that game.

In Set 9, some Portal effects were quite wild, such as the Sump (players cannot gain interest). However, in Set 10, the Portal effects will be on the simpler side. This means the Portal shouldn’t affect the game too much, but should still add some spice to your matches.

    All Portal Effects

Here’s a list of all of the Portals that are confirmed for Set 10. This list may grow or change quite rapidly, but we’ll be sure to update as things change.

For most of these Augments I’ll give a quick tip to keep in mind for your games.

    • Gold Augment First The first augment this game will be gold tier.
      • A gold opening Augment isn’t anything particularly special. Vote for this if you want your game to be on the “normal” side.
    • Prismatic Augment First The first augment this game will be prismatic tier.
      • Getting a Prismatic Augment first means the tempo of the lobby will be faster. This means you want to put more thought into preserving HP as some players can get strong very quickly.
    • All Silver Augments All augments this game will be silver tier
      • If every Augment is Silver, the power level of the lobby will be on the low side. Don’t overinvest into your board if not necessary.
    • All Gold Augments All augments this game will be gold tier.
      • This is a step up from Silver. The game will have a “normal” pace.
    • All Prismatic Augments All augments this game will be prismatic tier.
      • In full Prismatic games, just about anything can happen. You can win super quickly or die super quickly. Don’t take these games too much to heart as the variance can be very high in a full prismatic game.
    • Prismatic Augment Third The last augment of this game will be prismatic tier.
      • If the first two Augments are gold/silver, don’t worry too much about this one. However, be sure to power up your board after the last Augment as other players will likely get much stronger with the last prismatic Augment.
    • Gold Augment Third The last augment of this game will be gold tier.
      • Once again, a final Gold augment isn’t particularly special to note.
    • Tier 3 Start Start the game with a random Tier 3 champion.
      • If you can utilize your free champion well, try to get a strong start. However, don’t be afraid to sell and build up economy to play flexibly.
    • Duplicator Start Start the game with a Champion Duplicator.
      • You can opt to play this portal greedy by going for a reroll comp or trying to 2-star a 5-cost early. Conversely, you can use this duplicator early for tempo to win streak early by getting an early upgrade of a 2 or 3-cost unit. (Can be risky whichever strategy you choose)
    • Triple Champion Start the game with 3 random Tier 1 champions.
      • This will give you some additional options to try and build a strong early board. You can also use this to try and reach 10 gold faster, letting you speed up your economy.
    • Gold Per Augment Every time you select an augment, gain 3 gold.
      • Similar to the triple champion, this Portal can speed up your economy, letting you reach 10 gold or 20 gold faster than usual.
    • Gold Per Item Every time you build an item, gain 2 gold.
      • With this Portal, look to slam powerful items early to build up your economy. Other players will also be doing the same so you don’t want to fall behind in tempo too much.
    • Pot of Gold At stage 6-1, all living players split a pot of 120 gold.
      • Try and see if you can hit level 9 at 6-1, as you’ll get a large injection of Gold to roll for powerful units.
    • Artifact Anvil Start with an Artifact Anvil that lets you choose from powerful items with unique effects.
      • Like Prismatic Augments, powerful Artifacts can up the tempo of the lobby, so don’t bleed too much in the early game.
    • Component Anvils Gain 2 Item Component Anvils at the start of the game.
      • Extra items lets you slam some strong items early while still holding onto some components for BiS late game items.
    • Radiant Item Select 1 of 5 Radiant items at the start of the game. Radiant items are powerful versions of core items.
      • Like the Artifacts, these Radiant items spike the power level of the lobby. Don’t fall too behind.
    • Completed Anvil Gain 1 completed item anvil at the start of the game.
      • In general you’ll want to pick an item that’s strong on a lot of comps, like a frontline item, but if you’re committed to one comp, you can pick a specific carry item as well.
    • Scuttle Puddle PVE enemies are replaced by crabs that drop bonus loot!
      • This portal supercharges the economy of the lobby. Everyone will hit interest thresholds much easier, so be prepared for extremely strong boards late game.
    • Player Health Increase All players start with 115 health instead of 100.
      • With the extra Health, you can look to play a bit more greedy, or try to be aggressive to punish other greedy players.
    • Double Item Carousel Champions on the carousel hold 2 items instead of 1.
      • Some comps make use of many carries, and having more items lets you power up your board more effectively.
    • Training Dummy Start the game with a training dummy.
      • You can use the training dummy as some free frontline. If you’re committed to lose streaking, you can even use it to block one of your melee units in the corner, ensuring you lose the round.
    • Unit Accelerator All units gain bonus movement speed and +10% Attack Speed.
      • Attack Speed is a universal stat for just about any unit, but the extra movement speed is quite nice for melee comps.
