Rise of the Underworlds Spoilers Day 9

Hey everyone, NicMakesPlays here and today I’m going to go over the last Champion revealed of this expansion Ekko, as well as the spells that go with him.

Ekko looks really powerful so it seems they saved the best for last!

Here are the new cards from Ekko’s reveal:

    • Ekko (champion level 1 + 2)
      • Chronobreak (spell generated by Ekko)
    • Parallel Convergence (spell)
    • Called Shot/Ekko’s Called Shot (spell + Ekko’s champion spell)

We’re revealing new Rise of the Underworld cards every day on our spoiler page.

To build decks with the new cards, head to our Deck Builder.

    Ekko

    Ekko level 1 (LoR Card)

    • Ekko level 1
      • 4 mana 4|2 champion, Quick Attack
      • Text: Strike: Create a Fleeting Time Trick in hand.
      • Level up: You’ve Predicted 5+ times. When I level up, create 3 Chronobreaks in your deck.

    Ekko level 2 (LoR Card)

    • Ekko level 2
      • 4 mana 5|3 champion, Quick Attack
      • Text: Strike: Create a Fleeting 0 cost Time Trick in hand.

Ekko starts as a 4/2 4 drop with Quick Attack. But that’s not all, he yields amazing effects by generating value as well as adding powerful spells to your deck.

When Ekko attacks he gives you a Fleeting Timetrick which can be used to generate value and search powerful cards from your deck.

When he levels up he creates 3 Chronobreaks in your deck. Chronobreak can easily be used to go for game or put your opponent in a spot that they have to struggle to defend themselves.

Ekko adds so much to any deck he’s in I would be surprised to not see a ton of decks try and utilize him.

    Parallel Convergence

    Parallel Convergence (LoR Card)

    • Parallel Convergence
      • 4 mana Slow spell
      • Text: Start a free attack with an exact Ephemeral copy of each ally.

Parallel Convergence is an insanely powerful card that is only added to your deck through Called Shot. This card allows you to go for game or make a huge push.

I also love how this card adds Predict payoff to your deck. If Ekko is on the field when you use Parallel Convergence then you also get to create another free fleeting Timetrick to your hand to generate value.

Whether you win the game or not the turn this card is played, this card will heavily swing the game in your favor.

    Called Shot/Ekko’s Called Shot

Called Shot (LoR Card)Ekko's Called Shot (LoR Card)

    • Called Shot/Ekko’s Called Shot
      • 2 mana Slow spell
      • Text: Create a Parallel Convergence in your deck.

Called Shot is main-deckable as well as Ekkos’ Champ Spell. This card allows you to draw 1 and add a Parallel Convergence to your deck.

Parallel Convergence is yet another Predict payoff we see this expansion in a deck that uses a ton of Predict cards.

Whether people maindeck this card or not, Ekko’s Champ Spell is Called Shot so your Parallel Convergence will be utilized in many games.

    Chronobreak

    Chronobreak (LoR Card)

    • Chronobreak
      • 3 mana Slow spell
      • Text: Revive all allies that died this round, then Rally.

Chronobreak is only added to your deck through Ekko’s level up, and we can see why you have to work for it since it’s such a strong card.

This card is unique being the only Rally that Piltover and Zaun have, as well as comboing well with Parallel Convergence.

It’ll make your opponent think twice about killing Ekko because you can just revive him and then push for a huge attack.

    Ekko’s Champion Pairings

    Ekko + Zilean

Ekko works great with Zilean since Zilean + Shurima has tons of Predicts. These Predicts will allow you to see Ekko’s Predict payoffs as well as Zilean’s Time Bomb’s frequently which give you a multitude of threats.

Their level-ups also both benefit from the abundance of Predicts in these regions which shows why they work so well together.

    Ekko + Ezreal

Ekko also works great with Ezreal. Ezreal decks usually are well rounded and utilize the better cards in Piltover and Zaun such as Mystic Shot and Ballistic Bot.

You can use Ekko as a value generator from the Timetricks he gives to help generate advantage while leveling up Ezreal in the mid-game.

In the late game, Ezreal + Ekko’s generated spells can help you close a game.
