MSI 2024: Key Dates and Schedule
The League of Legends 2024 Mid-Season Invitational event is almost here where teams are heading to China to face of with other teams from all over the world. MSI has been a popular event for many years now, and is one of the best events around as it is one of the few times each year we get to see teams from different regions fighting off against each one another.
MSI is being held in Chengdu, China, from May 1st to the 19th and involves 8 teams from different regions battling it out trying to be crowned as the MSI 2024 Tournament champions. When Does MSI Start?
The 2024 MSI League of Legends Tournament starts on May 1st 2024 and will be made up of 3 different stages. The first is the play-in stage, then the winners head into the bracket stage, and after that is the finals where we see the 2 best teams in the event face off for the trophy.
The current live patch (which is patch 14.8) is going to be the patch that MSI will be playing on. On this patch, we say many changes are directed towards MSI, which has been a blessing and a curse. Let’s hope we see some good picks this time around, and not the same champions every game!
When Does Play-In Stage and Bracket Stage Begin?
The play in stage will be played through May 1st to May 5th. During this time, 8 teams will play through double-elimination brackets with best of 3 games. Below, you can see the graph that shows how the games will go.
The bracket stage will include the 4 teams that have advanced from the play-in stage. They will battle it out from the 7th of May to the 12th. They will play a best of 5, which will leave us with 2 potential winners.

When is the MSI Finals?
The finals of MSi will be played on the 19th of May. They will play a best of 5, and the winners will be crowned the winners of the 2024 MSI event. However, the winners will also be guaranteed a spot at Worlds 2024, which is great for any of the teams participating in this international event.
