Marvel Snap: White Widow Best Decks and Synergies

    How to Play White Widow

Welcome back to our weekly review where we’ll be covering Marvel Snap’s latest card, White Widow, along with the best decks and synergies. I’ll be covering new deck ideas in this article, but to stay up to date, check out our full Marvel Snap Tier List to see any new meta changes.

White Widow seems to be releasing at the perfect time. With the recent meta focusing on combo decks and midrange Angela decks, Junk decks have found a spot in the top tier. Junk decks are able to disrupt combo decks with tools like Professor X, Cannonball, and Annihilus.

With White Widow releasing, she looks to be a powerful buff to just about every Junk deck, as she’s one of the best 2-cost cards for the archetype.

Let’s get right into the guide.

    White Widow Effect

    Marvel Snap White Widow

On Reveal: Add a Widow’s Kiss to your opponent’s side of this location.

    Marvel Snap Widow's Kiss

Ongoing: This has -4 Power. Disable this ability if your side of this location is full.

    White Widow Analysis

Off the bat, we can try to assign White Widow a value of 2/6. The Widow’s Kiss will potentially represent -4 Power for your opponent, resulting in 6 overall Power.

While your opponent can fill their location with cards to negate Widow’s Kiss, this also plays into Junk deck strategies. If your opponent tries to fill their side, you can clog them with other cards like Debrii or Cannonball.

While White Widow will then result in only 2 Power, you gain that back by locking your opponent out of location. This is arguably more impactful than the 4 Power.

Because of this, White Widow is a very powerful inclusion into Junk archetype decks. She’s a powerful 2-cost card that allows you to curve out powerfully while also playing into your game plan.

Cards that Synergize with White Widow

    Junk Archetype

    Marvel Snap Cannonball

On Reveal: Move the highest-Power enemy card here away. If you can’t, destroy it with a Rock.

I mentioned this already, but the Junk archetype will benefit greatly from White Widow. There are a number of ways you can build the deck, with variations usually differing slightly.

The first Junk archetype looks to play around Professor X and Cannonball. Professor X can lock down one location while Cannonball looks to win another.

The second archetype utilizes the Annihilus core with Sentry and The Hood. This doesn’t lock down locations like Professor X, but outputs more Power and can fill your opponent’s board with The Hood, The Void, etc.

    Mojo

    Marvel Snap Mojo

Ongoing: If both sides here are full, +6 Power.

Another small synergy for White Widow is Mojo. With White Widow, you incentivize your opponent to fill one lane, allowing your Mojo to gain a lot of Power. If they don’t fill, White Widow gets good value, and if they do fill, Mojo will power up instead.

In terms of the meta, Mojo probably won’t make it into decks, but for players with smaller collections, Mojo might be an interesting choice.

    Spider-Man

    Marvel Snap Spider-Man

On Reveal: Move to another location and pull an enemy card from here to there.

The last synergy I want to cover are cards that can move your opponent’s card. You can play Spider-Man on the final turn, making it so that your opponent can’t fill their location.

This will ensure that Widow’s Kiss will stay at -4, keeping your Power. Other effects like Cannonball and Aero can also work instead of Spider-Man.

While Junk generally wants to clog your opponent’s locations, this effect can give you flexibility.

    White Widow Decks

For this section, I’ll be going over some decks that synergize with White Widow.

Keep in mind that these decks are all first impressions, so things can definitely change rapidly. As new discoveries are made, I will be updating our full Marvel Snap Tier List, rather than update this article.

Be sure to check it out to see what the best decks are.

    White Widow Pixie Deck

Marvel Snap White Widow Pixie Deck

Recently, Pixie decks that utilize Annihilus have been picking up traction as a way to clog your opponent’s board while also having some high roll potential.

Cards like Sentry, Demon, and Red Hulk can provide a ton of Power towards the end of the game. The deck also comfortably fits in disruptive cards like Spider-Ham, Iceman, Mobius, and Polaris.

White Widow is a nice addition to the deck, giving you more opportunity to clog with things like Polaris or Annihilus.

    White Widow Junk Deck

Marvel Snap White Widow Junk Deck

This second deck is a more dedicated Junk deck. You have cards like Debrii, Green Goblin, and the same Annihilus package. Instead of going for Red Hulk and Pixie, this deck uses Professor X and Cannonball to further disrupt opponents.

White Widow is another perfect addition to this deck, as you have even more tools to clog your opponents.

How to Beat White Widow in Marvel Snap

    Destroy Cards

Technically, cards like Carnage and Deathlok are good into White Widow as you can destroy the Widow’s Kiss and generally avoid being clogged.

However, Professor X and Cannonball are very powerful tools into Destroy, and the matchup as a whole isn’t necessarily Destroy favored. Even still, Destroy does have tools to neutralize White Widow.

    Viper

Viper is another Junk card that occasionally sees play. The energy curve lines up perfectly for Viper to counter White Widow. If your opponent plays White Widow on 2, you can respond with Viper on 3 to send the Widow’s Kiss back over.

If Junk becomes increasingly popular, more people may opt to include Viper in their decks as a mirror tech card.

    Annihilus

Annihilus is a funny card because he is a card that you want to save in the mirror. If you play Annihilus first, your opponent has the opportunity to Annihilus right back, sending negative power cards back to you.

There’s a lot of mind games when both decks have Annihilus, but cards like Professor X help counter this play as well. If your opponent plays Sentry, you can Professor X the right location to trap The Void there even if they have Annihilus.

    Should You Buy White Widow?

Overall, I would rate White Widow an 8/10.

Originally I gave White Widow a lower rating when the month began, as Junk was still more of a niche deck. It was a good counter to Thanos, but Thanos was nerfed, leaving Junk in the lower tiers.

However, as time passed, Junk evolved to a point where it’s a strong meta deck for countering combo decks. You can play highroll versions with Pixie, or Junk dedicated lists to clog your opponent.

The archetype is much more fleshed out now, and you can’t always predict what your opponent has. Because of this, White Widow is a great pickup for the Junk archetype right now.

If you don’t have the other cards for Junk, you may want to skip though. White Widow is a nice role player for the deck, but I wouldn’t consider her absolutely necessary.

Cards like Annihilus or Cannonball should be your first priority for Junk decks.

Be sure to check out our Tier Lists for our current rankings on Marvel Snap decks and cards.
