Lynx: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More

Lynx is a 4-star Quantum Abundance character released very early into the game. A HP-scaling healer, Lynx is one of the free-to-play sustain characters that new players can utilize to get through the early game with some neat tricks that separate her from other healers that players can get via the standard banner.

Lynx HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

Lynx’s most unique part of her kit lies in her Skill – Salted Camping Cans. This is a targeted buff to a single ally, healing their max HP by a portion of Lynx’s Max HP, and also increasing their Max HP by a percentage of Lynx’s Max HP for 2 turns. When used on an allied Destruction or Preservation ally, this Skill will also greatly increase their aggro, making it a great buff for characters that want to get hit as much as possible. Lynx’s first major trace – Advance Surveying will recover her Energy by 2 every time the ally with this buff is attacked, further incentivizing players to play her with high aggro characters.

Lynx also has two other forms of healing. Firstly, her Ultimate – Snowfield First Aid is a teamwide burst heal that scales off Lynx’s max HP, and more importantly, it will also dispel a debuff from all allies. Teamwide cleanse on demand is an amazing effect for tough battles, often reserved for premium sustain units, which gives Lynx a clear edge over units like Bailu, Gepard, or Natasha. Furthermore, this Ultimate is very cheap at 100 Energy, meaning a well-built Lynx can use it very often, ensuring that her team always has this teamwide cleanse at a regular frequency.

Her Talent – Outdoor Survival Experience applies a passive continuous healing to any ally affected by her Skill or Ultimate that lasts for 2 turns. Every turn, they will get a small heal proportion to Lynx’s max HP. The ally with the buff from Lynx’s Skill will get an additional heal. Her third major trace – Survival in the Extreme, once unlocked, will increase the duration from 2 to 3 turns instead. Lynx’s Technique can apply this effect from her Talent for 2 turns immediately at the start of the battle. Last but not least, Lynx’s second major trace – Exploration Techniques increase her chance to resist Crowd Control by 35%, helping her stay vigilant against heavy debuffing enemies.

When paired with a Destruction hyper carry unit that likes to be attacked, such as Yunli, Lynx should adopt a Skill – Basic – Basic rotation to ensure the buff from her skill is always active. Lynx can also be played SP positive by spamming Basic Attacks when the team has no teammates that need the increased aggro, and relying on her Talent and Ultimate for heal. She is incredibly cheap to raise and build as well, with just an emphasis on Speed and HP to increase her healing potency and action counts.

Overall, Lynx is a very simple sustain unit, but with a good cohesiveness to her kit. Most players will want to upgrade their sustain options late into the game once they get more powerful units with their synergistic sustain, but Lynx can serve them through the early and mid game very well.

    Lynx HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack – Ice Crampon Technique: Deals Lightning DMG equal to 100% of Lynx’s ATK to a single enemy.

Skill – Salted Camping Cans: Applies “Survival Response” to a single target ally and increases their Max HP by 5.0% of Lynx’s Max HP plus 50. If the target ally is a character on the Path of Destruction or Preservation, the chance of them being attacked by enemies will greatly increase. “Survival Response” lasts for 2 turn(s).

Restores the target’s HP by 8.0% of Lynx’s Max HP plus 80.

Ultimate – Snowfield First Aid: Dispels 1 debuff(s) from all allies and immediately restores their respective HP by an amount equal to 9.0% of Lynx’s Max HP plus 90.

Talent – Outdoor Survival Experience: When using Lynx’s Skill or Ultimate, applies continuous healing to the target ally for 2 turn(s), restoring the target ally’s HP by an amount equal to 2.4% of Lynx’s Max HP plus 24 at the start of each turn. If the target has “Survival Response,” the continuous healing effect additionally restores HP by an amount equal to 3.0% of Lynx’s Max HP plus 30.

Technique – Chocolate Energy Bar: After Lynx uses her Technique, at the start of the next battle, all allies are granted her Talent’s continuous healing effect, lasting for 2 turn(s).

    Lynx HSR Traces

Advance Surveying: After a target with “Survival Response” is hit, Lynx regenerates 2 Energy immediately.

Exploration Techniques: Increases the chance to resist Crowd Control debuffs by 35%.

Survival in the Extreme: Extends the duration of the continuous healing effect granted by Talent for 1 turn(s).

    Lynx HSR Eidolons

    1. Morning of Snow Hike: When healing allies with HP percentage equal to or lower than 50%, Lynx’s Outgoing Healing increases by 20%. This effect also works on continuous healing.
    2. Noon of Portable Furnace: A target with “Survival Response” can resist debuff application for 1 time(s).
    3. Afternoon of Avalanche Beacon: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
    4. Dusk of Warm Campfire: When “Survival Response” is gained, increases the target’s ATK by an amount equal to 3.0% of Lynx’s Max HP for 1 turn(s).
    5. Night of Aurora Tea: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
    6. Dawn of Explorers’ Chart: Additionally boosts the Max HP increasing effect of “Survival Response” by an amount equal to 6.0% of Lynx’s Max HP and increases Effect RES by 30%.

    Eidolon Priority

None of Lynx’s Eidolons are particularly bad, but they aren’t truly outstanding either. As such, there is no need to ever chase her Eidolons, especially considering players can pull her accidentally via any banners.

Of these, her E1 improves her healing to allies that are below 50% HP, which can be clutch in a pinch. Her E2 gives a 1 time debuff immunity to any ally that receives the buff from her Skill, which can be handy against enemies with 1 major debuff that can be predicted, but not as useful against multiple enemies or enemies with various small debuffs. Her E4 gives a minor Attack buff to the target of her Skill but only for 1 turn. Last but not least, her E6 increases the Max HP and Effect Res of the target of her Skill, giving her some extra synergy with HP-scaling Damage Dealers.

    Premium Options

    Unto Tomorrow's Morrow

    Unto Tomorrow’s Morrow: Increases the wearer’s Outgoing Healing by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. When an ally target’s current HP percentage is greater than or equal to 50%, increases the DMG dealt by 12% / 14% / 16% / 18% / 20%.

This is a very solid option for Lynx as she can easily maintain Ally’s HP over the 50% threshold to benefit from the damage increase, provided the players can afford to get this Light Cone at high Super Imposition level from the Battle Pass.

    Honkai Star Rail Post-Op Conversation

    Post-Op Conversation: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16% and increases Outgoing Healing when they use their Ultimate by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%.

A simple but effective Light Cone if players want to further improve Lynx’s healing capacity, since a lot of her healing comes from her Ultimate. The Energy Regeneration Rate also helps her spam her Ultimates much more often.

    F2P Options

Honkai Star Rail Quid Pro Quo

Quid Pro Quo: At the start of the wearer’s turn, regenerates 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 Energy for a randomly chosen ally (excluding the wearer) whose current Energy is lower than 50%.

Quid Pro Quo is one of the most influential Abundance Light Cones. With a high Speed build, Quid Pro Quo can improve Abundance’s units’ ability to support the team via Energy Regeneration, albeit RNG-reliant. Since this Light Cone is free, getting a copy at SuperImposition 5 is also not a problem.

    HSR Lynx Main Stats

    Body: HP% / Outgoing Healing %

    Feet: Speed

    Orb: HP%

    Rope: Energy Regeneration Rope

Since all of Lynx’s effects scale with HP%, and being tanky enough to avoid untimely death is of utmost importance to a sustain unit, HP% on the Body piece and Orb are highly recommended. An Outgoing Healing% Body piece is acceptable too, as it yields higher healing output at the expense of less bulk. Speed Boot and Energy Regeneration Rate are non-negotiable, as both help Lynx maintain her Ultimate frequency.

    HSR Lynx Sub Stats

    • Speed
    • HP
    • Effect Res

Lynx should prioritize Speed and HP% as they are pivotal to her role. High Speed can yield extra action, which converts to more Skill Points for the team, Energy for Lynx (and even the team via Quid Pro Quo). Effect Res is a great stat to get on the side, if possible, to prevent Lynx from being crowd-controlled, which can snowball into a teamwipe if she is the solo sustainer.

    Speedtuning

Lynx does not have a specific Speed Break Point that she needs to reach. 134 / 160 are universal Speed threshold that one could aim for to squeeze out extra actions every once in a while.

    HSR Lynx Relics

    Option A

Warrior Goddess of Sun and Thunder

Warrior Goddess of Sun and Thunder

    • 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%.
    • 4-Pc: When the wearer or their memosprite provides healing to ally targets other than themselves, the wearer gains “Gentle Rain,” which lasts for 2 turn(s) and can only trigger once per turn. While the wearer has “Gentle Rain,” SPD increases by 6% and all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 15%. This effect cannot stack.

This set is easily best-in-slot for most healers. It provides 12% Speed to Lynx and 15% Crit Damage to the entire team; both are highly useful in most situations.

    Option B

Honkai Star Rail Passerby of Wandering Cloud

    Passerby of Wandering Cloud

    • 2-Pc: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
    • 4-Pc: At the start of the battle, immediately regenerates 1 Skill Point.

This set is the best if players want to improve Lynx’s healing output. The extra Skill Point can be useful when she is played in a team with units that need to start their rotation with their Skills.

    Option C

    Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

    Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

    • 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%.
    • 4-Pc: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn. This effect cannot be stacked.

Another generic Support set that Lynx can utilize, providing Speed for both herself and the team.

    Option D

    Eagle of Twilight Line

    Eagle of Twilight Line

    • 2-Pc: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.
    • 4-Pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.

Eagle is usable on most Support units, and Lynx is no exception, considering how cheap her Ultimate is. The extra Action Advance can be quite influential when utilized well, but this set is only recommended to more experienced players.

    HSR Lynx Planar Sets

    Lushaka, the Sunken Seas

    Lushaka, the Sunken Seas

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. If the wearer is not the first character in the team lineup, then it increases the Attack of the first character in the team lineup by 12%.

Lushaka is arguably the best Support set in the game for general contents, giving both Energy Regeneration boost and a strong Attack boost to one Damage Dealer.

    Giant Tree of Rapt Brooding

    Giant Tree of Rapt Brooding

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s SPD by 6%. When the wearer’s SPD is 135/180 or higher, the wearer and their memosprite’s Outgoing Healing increases by 12%/20%.

This set gives Lynx a fantastic 6% Speed boost and an extra Outgoing Healing increases which helps her sustain capacity.

    fleet of the ageless

    Fleet of the Ageless

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.

Fleet provides a solid HP boost, which translates to more healing for Lynx, and improves her team support capacity via the Attack boost.

    Sprightly Vonwacq

    Sprightly Vonwacq

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s action is Advanced Forward by 40% immediately upon entering battle.

Vonwaq is always going to be useful for Support units, thanks to its Energy Regeneration Rate boost, and the passive, which helps cut down some Action Value.

    Broken Keel

    Broken Keel

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 10%. When the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ Crit Damage increases by 10%.

Broken Keel provides another means of team support via Crit Damage boost, and helps Lynx staves off bad conditions via the Effect RES stacking.

    HSR Lynx Teammates

Lynx is quite plug-and-play as a sustain unit and can be used as a solo sustain for many teams when well-built. She does, however, have a niche synergy with HP-Scaling Damage Dealers (when she has her E6) and Damage Dealers that want to frequently get hit due to the increased aggro that her Skill provides.

Lynx is never going to be a best-in-slot sustain unit for most of these units, so players should look for premium options if they want to maximize their performance once they can afford to.

    Clara, Blade, Yunli, Mydei

Clara / Blade / Yunli / Mydei: Counter-based Damage Dealers, such as Yunli and Clara, can take advantage of Invigoration a lot more often than others since they have high aggro and benefit from getting attacked. Blade and Mydei benefit from both the increased aggro as they want to lose HP, and also the Max HP boost that increases their damage output.

    Phainon

Phainon: Since Phainon gains Coreflame stacks when enemies target him (which Lynx can help via the increased aggro) and when teammates target him for Healing (which Lynx can do via Skill), she is one of the better F2P options for Phainon until players can get his designated sustain support.

    HSR Lynx Teams

Since Lynx can work as a substitute for premium sustain units in most teams, we only list some of her more notable teams.

    lynx-teams1lynx-teams2

    HSR Lynx Value and Conclusion

Lynx is the second 4-star healer released after Natasha, and she is meant to be another accessible healer that players can go for to get through early progression. Compared to Natasha, she is a significant improvement, packing both better means of frequent healing and the perks of teamwide cleanse.

While she does have some gimmick when paired with units that want increased aggro, she is still far below the level of modern premium / limited sustain units such as Hyacine, Lingsha, or Huohuo. As such, she should only be considered when the players need a placeholder that can get them to the points where the limited sustain units become a necessary.
