    How to Play Lulu Zed

    Hey guys NicMakesPlays here.

Today I’m going to go over a Lulu Zed deck to give you guys something new to try.

It’s a fun aggro deck that uses champions that are pretty rare nowadays.

We’ve covered a ton of other decks recently so be sure to check out our previous deck guides!

[See NicMakesPlays Lulu Zed deck details]

    Win Condition

The goal of the deck is to use your support units for extremely strong opening turns then finish your opponent off with Rally.

This deck’s expected turn to win the game is turn 5-6.

    Mulligans

    NicMakesPlays Lulu Zed (LoR Card)

In this deck, you want to mulligan for a 1 drop, 2 drop, and 3 drop to get a strong opening curve.

The 1 drops such as Flower Child and Fleetfeather Tracker work well when being supported by the 2 drops such as War Chefs and Young Witch.

Zed and Lulu are strong cards to play on turn 3 to continue the pressure and then you want to try and draw into your Rally spells by turns 4-6 to finish the game.

    Card Choices & Key Synergies

    Fleetfeather Tracker and Flower Child

fleetfeather tracker jpgFlower Child (LoR Card)

Fleetfeather Tracker and Flower Child are your 1 drops of the deck which are usually being supported.

They become particularly powerful when buffed by Young Witch and Lulu to get great trades with Fleetfeather Tracker’s Challenger and Flower Childs +2|+0 grant.

Fleetfeather Tracker is also strong when combined with Brightsteel Protector or Rush to gain board control through combat trades.

    War Chefs and Young Witch

War Chefs (LoR Card)Young Witch (LoR Card)

War Chefs and Young Witch are 2 drops that support your one drops to start applying early pressure. These cards help level up Lulu as well as combine well with the 1 drops to win combat trades.

War Chefs can start granting Flower Child her grant +2|+0 while Young Witch can combine her quick attack buff with Fleettrackers Challenger to take out enemy blockers.

    Blinding Assault and Rush

    blinding assault jpgRush (LoR Card)

Blinding Assault and Rush allow you to make offensive pushes with your spell mana for cheap.

Blinding Assault summons a Valor which has Scout and Challenger.

This can be combined with Rush or Brightsteel Protector to remove enemy blockers before your big swing that turn.

Rush is a 1 mana spell that can make your units win a combat trade, which works great with the Challenger units to pick which blocker you remove.

    Lulu and Zed

Lulu level 1 (LoR Card)zed jpg

Lulu and Zed are your power cards that have a high impact on the game.

Lulu can be combined with Fleetfeather Tracker to make him a 4|4 Challenger or with Flower Child to make her a 6|4.

She also levels up extremely easily in this deck and gives you a versatile spell each turn which can be used to protect your units or give Vulnerable to an enemy unit.

Zed allows you to push for huge damage on turn 3. On turn 3 you already have been putting on a lot of pressure and he continues that momentum by summoning his Shadow to attack with him.

He is also great with the Rallies such as Relentless Pursuit to end games early.

    Relentless Pursuit and Golden Aegis

relentless pursuit jpgGolden Aegis (LoR reveal)

Relentless Pursuit and Golden Aegis let you Rally and close out the game. Each time you attack with this deck you get a lot of momentum through your Support units and Zed.

Once you’ve cleared out opponent blockers with a strong attack, you can use the Rally spells to attack again and win the game.

    Good Matchups

This deck is great against decks that need to set up such as Irelia Azir and Trundle Lissandra.

Against Irelia Azir you can put on huge pressure with your Support units while they are setting up their Sand Soldiers with Emperors Dias and Azir.

    Sand Soldier (LoR Card)

They will be forced to answer your attacks and you can finish them off with Zed and Rallies before they can finish you off.

Against Trundle Lissandra you can use Ranger’s Resolve to stop a board clear such as Avalanche or Withering Wail for 1 mana.

    Ranger's Resolve (LoR Card)

Not only does this let you continue your swing but you can use your extra mana for a Rally spell to win the game.

    Bad Matchups

Bad matchups are decks with a lot of removal spells such as Ez Draven.

Ez Draven can remove your key units for your Support chains with spells such as Mystic Shot and Culling Strike.

    Mystic Shot (LoR card)

Ranger’s Resolve is a great answer to keep your units alive by giving them Tough, and Rush can make your units too strong to kill with Culling Strike.

If you can get a Ranger’s Resolve off in response to Statikk Shock then you counter a 4 mana spell for 1 mana and can make a huge push to swing the game in your favor.

    Tech Choices

    Nopeify!

    Nopeify! (LoR Card)

Nopeify is a cheap spell that has tons of cards it can stop this meta such as Vile Feast and Mystic Shot.

I decided to run 3 Ranger’s Resolve since it accomplishes the same goal for 1 mana cheaper and is better against board clears such as Avalanche and Withering Wail.

    Laurent Protege

    Laurent Protege (LoR Card)

Laurent Protege has a great statline which can cement your lead if you already have a lot of pressure on the board.

He usually can get two kills before he dies since he has high health.

    Fae Guide

    fae guide jpg

Fae Guide can help you go for alternative win conditions through Elusives to push for unblockable damage.

They works particularly well with leveled Zed and Rally spells to get max damage out of the new Elusive unit.
