    LoR Deck Guide: Kindred Nasus

    How to Play Kindred Nasus

Hey guys NicMakesPlays here and today I’m going to go over my new Kindred Nasus deck.

When the expansion first launched, I was able to go on an 11-0 winning streak using this deck.

Overall, it is really well-rounded and has a ton of options to deal with the new meta.

    Kindred Nasus

    Deck Code: CECQEAQFAQDAEBAHDIXQGAIFFMYDCAQEAUBQKAIDAUCAGAQBAUFRSAQEA45XSAIEAUIAA

[See NicMakesPlays’s Kindred Nasus deck details]

    Win Condition

The goal of the deck is straightforward. Look to open strong with Shadow Isle units early game, control the mid-game with Kindred, and then finish off with Nasus.

    The Mulligan Phase

If you’re going first, mulligan for Barkbeast, Cursed Keeper/Fading Icon and Caretaker.

    NicMakesPlays Kindred Nasus (LoR Mulligan1)

If you’re going second, look for Barkbeast, Cursed Keeper/Fading Icon, and Butcher if going second for your best damage output in the early game.

    Card Choices & Key Synergies

    Blighted Caretaker (LoR Card)

These cards allow huge amounts of early game damage, board control, and rack-up slay triggers for Nasus.

You can combo these with Barkbeast or Ravenous Butcher to do 9+ damage by turn 3 and remove opponents blockers with Blighted Caretaker.

Spirit Leech (LoR Card)Rite of Calling (LoR reveal)

Spirit Leech and Rite of Calling allow you to turn your Cursed Keeper, Hapless and Fading Icon into card advantage and draw your Champions.

These cards can also be used alongside Ravenous Butcher for easy slay triggers to get Kindred’s marks as well as level Nasus.

Kindred level 1 (LoR Card)Nasus Level 1 (LoR reveal)

Kindred holds down the mid-game but slaying enemy units with her Mark.

You can clear out enemies with Greenglade Caretaker to leave stronger ones behind for her mark to finish off the next turn.

Rite of Calling and Ravenous Butcher can be used for cheap 0 mana slay triggers to get Kindred’s Mark as well as search Nasus to finish the game.

Nasus is played after you have board control as a finisher, they aren’t able to deal with Kindred killing off their field as well as Nasus going for lethal.

atrocity jpgRite of Negation (LoR Card)

You want to use these cards in unison with Nasus to go for game with Atrocity and Rite of Negation to back it up.

You can get Nasus to 10 attack and attack to give him Spellshield.

Afterward, you can go for Atrocity on Nasus and since he has Spellshield and Rite of Negation to back him up it’s easy to get lethal through your opponent’s answers.

Rite of Negation is also a versatile card to stop any impactful spell or skill from your opponent.

Atrocity can also be used on other units such as Kindred’s leveled-up form to go for lethal, which can easily get to 9+ attack with her +2|+2 buffs.

    Stalking Shadows (LoR card)

    Glimpse Beyond (LoR card)

These cards are used to refuel as well as pick from an arsenal of units depending on what you need in each situation.

Glimpse Beyond can be used on Cursed Keeper, The Prey from Fading Icon, and Hapless Aristocrat to draw two, trigger slay, trigger Kindred, and buff Nasus.

Stalking Shadows gives an amazing toolbox in this deck.

You can get Cursed Keeper to have it become a 4|3 at the end of the turn, Blighted Caretaker to hook away blockers and go for game, or Fading Icon to have extra blockers.

    Good Matchups

This deck is amazing against decks that do not have ways to stop the early game damage output.

Decks like Sivir Leblanc and Twisted Fate Fizz don’t have enough early blockers to stop all the pressure this deck outputs.

Kindred is good against Shadow Isles/Frejlord and Targon since they mostly play real units that you can kill with the mark such as Aphelios, Trundle, and Lissandra.

Nasus + Atrocity is an amazing finisher against decks that don’t have many Fearsome blockers or answers to Atrocity.

    atrocity jpg

Atrocity is one of the best cards against Twisted Fate Fizz since they have no way to stop it when used on a buffed Nasus.

    Bad Matchups

The hardest matchups this deck has are Targon decks.

Targon decks have Hush so they can stop your Nasus finisher when you go for game.

    Hush (LoR card)

The way you win this matchup is to go for huge early game pressure with the Barkbeast, Cursed Keeper, and Blighted Caretaker.

You can attempt to kill Aphelios with Blighted Caretaker to stop him from generating card advantage.

Kindred is amazing in this matchup because once you get rid of their Spacey Sketcher and Lunari Duskbringer then Kindred will start killing their bigger units and they will run out of threats.

    Tech Choices

    • Baccai Sandspinner

    Bacci Sandspinner (LoR Card)

      • This card is amazing for unit removals such as removing Twisted Fate, Aphelios, Lucian, and Azir.
      • The -1|0 and Vulnerable is permanent so even if they protect it for the turn you are still able to kill their unit next turn.
      • This card is also good since it fits your 4 cost curve which you can fit more of in this deck, as well as racking up slays for Nasus.
    • Baccai Reaper

    Baccai Reaper (LoR reveal)

      • If you wanted to go even more aggressive you could cut Hapless Aristocrat for Baccai Reaper to push huge damage output in the early game with Butcher and Caretaker.
    • Black Spear

    Black Spear (LoR Card)

      • Black Spear helps deal with a lot of units in the meta right now such as Twisted Fate, Aphelios, and Lucian.
      • This card can be what you need to ensure you are well equipped to deal with a multitude of threats.
