Hysilens: Guide, Skills, Builds, Teams & More

Hysilens is a Physical Nihility character of the DoT (Damage-Over-Time) archetype. A serious damage DoT carry, Hysilens gives much-needed ceiling to an otherwise trailing behind team archetype, and allows them to compete in endgame environments with her massive damage output.

    HSR Hysilens Release Date

Hysilens’s banner was run during the first half of Version 3.5, released on August 16, 2025, until September 2, 2026. Currently, there is no concrete rerun schedule for her.

Hysilens HSR Kit Overview (Trace Level 10)

    Talent and Ultimate

Hysilens is most aptly described as a DoT Hypercarry, with a significant amount of teamwide DoT support simultaneously, a recurring theme of 3.x patch units. Much of her power budget comes from her Ultimate and Talent.

Hysilents’s Talent – Sirenic Serenade has a 100% base chance to inflict one of the four primary DoT effects: Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, or Shock to an enemy target whenever an ally attacks said target, with a priority for the effects that the target currently does not have. These DoTs have relatively low value at 25% of Hysilens’ Attack and last for 2 turns, but they can coexist with other units’ DoT effects, and serve primarily as enablers for her Ultimate.

Upon using her Ultimate – Maelstrom Rhapsody, Hysilens will deal AoE damage to all enemies and deploy a Zone that lasts for 3 of Hysilens’ turns. While this Zone is active, enemies’ Attack is reduced by 15%, and their Defense is reduced by 25%. More importantly, whenever an instance of DoT deals damage to an enemy, Hysilens will immediately deal an instance of damage equal to 80% of her Attack.

This effect can trigger up to 8 times, which means if the enemies have 8 DoT effects on them and said DoT effects trigger (either via their turns or via any effect that triggers these DoTs), Hysilens can deal a massive 480% Multiplier Value on that occasion, which is why her weak DoTs from her Talent come into play by guaranteeing that enemies will always have at least 4 DoT effects on them.

    Skill & Major Traces

Hysilens’s Skills and Traces focus on supplementing her with more DoT triggers, support to DoT teammates, and personal damage boosts. Her Skill – Overtone Hum: Chorus After Dark Tides is a straightforward AoE attack with a weak Multiplier Value at 140%, but also has a 100% base chance to inflict a 20% Vulnerability debuff onto all enemies for 3 turns, which helps the team’s overall damage output.

The Gladius of Conquest – her first major trace is a purely utility one. Upon the start of the battle, this trace will immediately deploy the Zone from her Ultimate, essentially kickstarting her gameplay automatically. Furthermore, every time she deploys her Zone, she will recover 1 Skill Point. This effect is extremely handy, as the DoT team can be very SP hungry when fielding units like Kafka, Huohuo, or Robin.

Her second major trace – The Bubble of Banquets is a DoT triggering effect. Every time Hysilens uses her Ultimate, if the enemies are already afflicted with DoTs, all the DoT effects on them will immediately trigger and deal damage equal to 150% of their original value. This is another way for Hysilens to trigger her Zone’s damaging effect, and has good synergy with units that give very high DoT Damage, such as Black Swan.

Last but not least, theFiddle of Pearls is a simple but effective major trace, giving her 15% Damage increase for every 10% Effect Hit Rate that exceeds the 60% threshold, with a cap at 90% damage increase at 120% Effect Hit Rate.

Hysilens’ Technique – At Ocean’s Abode creates a Special Dimension that stops enemies from attacking and moves alongside Hysilens’ movement. When entering battle with this effect, Hysilens will inflict 2 random DoTs from her talent on all enemies.

    Gameplay Evaluation

Hysilens is a bit different from regular DoT units. She does not deal damage via her DoT per se, as her own DoTs have very low value, but her damage comes mainly from her Zone whenever DoTs trigger on the enemies. As such, Hysilens cares more about how many different DoT effects her team can inflict and how often they can re-trigger these DoTs.

Hysilens is basically the main damage source in a modern DoTs team. Despite not leaning toward strong DoT values, she has great synergy with most major DoT units, either because they can re-trigger DoT very frequently, like Kafka, or via fast DoT stacking / DoT amplification like Black Swan. She can even function without DoT units when paired with specialist supports like Cyrene.

However, despite her strong damage output, Hysilens does not solve any of DoT’s primary problems that have plagued this archetype since its inception, such as backloaded damage, boss cleansing themselves, and not dealing toughness damage, etc. As such, the DoT archetype will still be at the mercy of the endgame environment and can swing between absolutely dominant and completely neutered within 1-2 patches.

    Hysilens HSR Core Skills

Basic Attack - Aeolian Mode Echoes in Still Waters

Basic Attack – Aeolian Mode: Echoes in Still Waters: Deals Physical DMG equal to 100% of Hysilens’s ATK to one designated enemy.

Skill - Overtone Hum Chorus After Dark Tides

Skill – Overtone Hum: Chorus After Dark Tides: Has a 100% base chance to increase the DMG taken by all enemies by 20%, lasting for 3 turn(s). At the same time, deals Physical DMG equal to 140% of Hysilens’s ATK to all enemies.

While the Zone is active, increases all allies’ Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%. Toughness Reduction taken by enemy targets while not Weakness Broken can be converted into Super Break DMG.

    Ultimate - Maelstrom Rhapsody

Ultimate – Maelstrom Rhapsody: Hysilens deploys a Zone that reduces enemy targets’ ATK by 15% and DEF by 25%, and deals Physical DMG equal to 200% of Hysilens’s ATK to all enemies.

For every 1 instance of DoT taken by an enemy target within the Zone, Hysilens deals Physical DoT equal to 80% of her ATK to them. This damage triggers at the start of each turn or after one attack by an ally target, up to 8 time(s). And it cannot repeatedly trigger this effect.

The Zone lasts for 3 turn(s) and this duration decreases by 1 at the start of this unit’s every turn. When Hysilens gets knocked down, the Zone will also be dispelled.

    Talent - Sirenic Serenade

Talent – Sirenic Serenade: When an ally target attacks, there is a 100% base chance for Hysilens to inflict the hit enemy target with one of the following states: Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, or Shock. Priority is given to inflicting a different state.

While in the Wind Shear/Burn/Shock state, at the start of each turn, the enemy target takes Wind/Fire/Lightning DoT equal to 25% of Hysilens’s ATK for 2 turn(s).

While in the Bleed state, at the start of each turn, the enemy target takes Physical DoT equal to 20% of their Max HP, up to 25% of Hysilens’s ATK, lasting for 2 turn(s).

    Technique - At Ocean's Abode

Technique – At Ocean’s Abode: After using Technique, creates a Special Dimension that lasts for 20 seconds and automatically moves forward. Enemies within the Special Dimension enter the “Soulstruck” state. “Soulstruck” enemies will not attack ally targets and will follow the dimension while it persists.

After entering combat with “Soulstruck” enemies, there is a 100% base chance to inflict each enemy target with 2 of the following states: Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock, all of which are equivalent to those provided by Hysilens’s Talent effect.

    Hysilens HSR Traces

    The Gladius of Conquest

The Gladius of Conquest: At the start of combat, Hysilens deploys a Zone, equivalent to that provided by her Ultimate, lasting for 3 turn(s). Whenever Hysilens deploys a Zone, she recovers 1 Skill Point(s).

    The Bubble of Banquets

The Bubble of Banquets: When Hysilens uses Ultimate, if the enemy target is currently afflicted with DoT(s), all DoTs currently applied on the target will immediately produce DMG equal to 150% of their original DMG.

    The Fiddle of Pearls

The Fiddle of Pearls: For every 10% of Hysilens’s Effect Hit Rate that exceeds 60%, increases her DMG dealt by 15%, up to a max increase of 90%.

    Hysilens HSR Eidolons

    1. You Ask Why Hearts Cry: While Hysilens is on the field, the DoT dealt by ally targets is equal to 116% of their original value. When Hysilens inflicts Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock on enemies via her Talent, there is a 100% base chance to additionally inflict the target with 1 instance of Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock state that is equivalent to those from the original Talent effect and can coexist with such pre-existing states.
    2. Tell Me Why Waves Roar High: While the Zone is active, the DMG Boost effect from Trace “The Fiddle of Pearls” applies to all allies.
    3. Why Do Lights Bid Goodbye: Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10
    4. Lo, How Time Flows By: While the Zone is active, reduces All-Type RES of all enemies by 20%.
    5. In Ablution, I Hum and Sigh: Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
    6. When to Return From Where You Lie: While the Zone is active, at the start of each turn or after one attack by an ally target, increases the maximum trigger count for Hysilens’s Physical DoT effect to 12, and increases the multiplier of the DMG dealt by 20%.

    Eidolon Priority

Hysilens has one of the strongest Eidolon 1s in the game, and players can absolutely prioritize this Eidolon over her Signature Light Cone. This Eidolon gives a raw 16% damage increase for all DoT damage from Hysilens’ team while she is on the field. Furthermore, Hysilens can inflict 1 instance of DoT that can coexist with her Talent’s DoT effects whenever she inflicts a DoT effect onto an enemy. Essentially, this ensures that she will always have 8 different DoT effects to maximize her Zone’s damage, greatly improving her overall consistency and damage output.

Her E2 is much weaker in comparison, granting her trace’s damage boost to all teammates when her zone is active. It’s worth noting that her teammates do not need to build Effect Hit Rate to benefit from this.

Her E4 is quite potent, granting a 20% All-Type Res Pen essentially to the entire team when her Zone is active. Since DoT is a multi-element archetype, this Eidolon helps their overall damage output a lot.

Finally, her E6 allows her Zone damage trigger to trigger up to 12 times instead of 8 (provided she can get 12 different DoT effects), and the multiplier of the damage will also be increased by 20%. A Strong Eidolon, but not as impactful as her E1, which means for players that want to vertically invest, Hysilens should feel complete at E1S1.

    • Eidolon 2: Low

    Premium Options

    Why Does the Ocean Sing

Why Does the Ocean Sing: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 40% / 45% / 50% / 55% / 60%. When an enemy target gets inflicted with a debuff by the wearer, there is a 80% base chance for them to enter “Enthrallment,” lasting for 3 turn(s). Effects of the same type cannot stack. While the target is in “Enthrallment,” for every 1 debuff applied by the wearer on the target, increases the target’s received DoT by 5% / 6.25% / 7.5% / 8.75% / 10%, stacking up to 6 times. When the target gets attacked by an ally, increases the attacker’s SPD by 10% / 12.5% / 15% / 17.5% / 20% for 3 turn(s). When the wearer gets knocked down, removes all “Enthrallment.”

Hysilen’s Signature Light Cone should feel very comfy on her. It gives her a massive Effect Hit Rate boost so that she can reach the 120% threshold easier. Furthermore, this Light Cone essentially gives a 30% DoT Vulnerability and 10% Teamwide Speed boost, both of which are valuable as a whole for the DoT team. Nonetheless, this Light Cone does not change Hysilens mechanically or how she is played, so her E1 can be prioritized as she has a lot of decent alternatives or placeholder options.

    Reforged Remembrance

Reforged Remembrance: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 40% / 45% / 50% / 55% / 60%. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy inflicted with Wind Shear, Burn, Shock, or Bleed, each respectively grants 1 stack of Prophet, stacking up to 4 times. In a single battle, only 1 stack of Prophet can be granted for each type of DoT. Every stack of Prophet increases the wearer’s ATK by 5% / 6% / 7% / 8% / 9% and enables the DoT dealt to ignore 7.2% / 7.9% / 8.6% / 9.3% / 10% of the target’s DEF.

Reforged Remembrance is another very strong Limited candidate. It also gives 40% Effect Hit Rate, but its effects are more leaned toward improving the holder’s personal damage via Attack boost and Def Shred rather than teamwide boosts.

    Good Night and Sleep Well

Good Night and Sleep Well: For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%, stacking up to 3 times. This effect also applies to DoT.

The DoT team should have no trouble fulfilling the requirement of this Light Cone, and the damage% boost is quite massive for a damage dealer like Hysilens.

    F2P Options

    Solitary Healing

    Solitary Healing: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases DoT dealt by the wearer by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%, lasting for 2 turn(s). When a target enemy suffering from DoT imposed by the wearer is defeated, regenerates 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 Energy for the wearer.

A good statstick option, and can be considered for people looking to spam Hysilens’ Ultimates more often for the Skill Point refund.

    Eyes of Prey

    Eyes of the Prey: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% and increases DoT by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%.

Another quite free-to-play friendly option that gives good Effect Hit Rate and also a strong damage boost.

    It’s Showtime

It’s Showtime: When the wearer inflicts a debuff on an enemy, gains a stack of Trick. Every stack of Trick increases the wearer’s DMG dealt by 6% / 7% / 8% / 9% / 10%, stacking up to 3 times. This effect lasts for 1 turn(s). When the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate is 80% or higher, increases ATK by 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% / 36%.

This Light Cone gives really good stats with easy to fulfill condition for Hysilens: 30% Damage and 36% Attack at Super Imposition 5.

    HSR Hysilens Main Stats

    • Body: Attack% / Effect Hit Rate%
    • Feet: Attack% > Speed
    • Orb: Physical Damage % / Attack%
    • Rope: Attack% > Energy Regeneration Rate%

DoT mainly scales off Attack%, so that should be the primary stat one looks for when picking gear for Hysilens. For her body piece, Effect Hit Rate% can be considered if she cannot hit the 120% threshold without it. otherwise go for Attack% for maximum damage. For boot, both Attack% and Speed are viable. Generally, most of Hysilens’ damage is out of her turn, and extra Speed would only matter if she can hit a threshold (134 or 160 for universally useful thresholds), so players can mix and match between both options to see what performs best in certain compositions. For Orb, both Physical Damage% and Attack% are viable to boost her personal damage. For Rope, Attack% is a good generic choice, but the player can also swap to Energy Regeneration Rope when she is used in a more SP-hungry setting.

    HSR Hysilens Sub Stats

    • Attack%
    • Effect Hit Rate%
    • Speed

Hysilens mainly wants Effect Hit Rate% until she reaches 120%, afterward she wants either Attack% for more damage or Speed to reach a desirable threshold, but this highly depends on her teammates, as some can give Speed boost like Ruan Mei.

    HSR Hysilens Relics

    Option A

    Prisoner in Deep Confinement

    Prisoner in Deep Confinement

    • 2-Pc: Increases ATK by 12%.
    • 4-Pc: For every DoT the enemy target is afflicted with, the wearer will ignore 6% of its DEF when dealing DMG to it. This effect is valid for a max of 3 DoTs.

This is the best-in-slot set for practically all DoT units, and Hysilens is no different. It gives a massive 18% Def Ignore boost on top of a 12% Attack boost.

    Option B

2+2 of set with Attack% boost

2+2 of set with Attack% boost

Hysilens can also utilize any combination that gives 24% Attack as placeholders until she get a desirable personal set.

    HSR Hysilens Planar Sets

    Option A

    Revelry by the Sea

    Revelry by the Sea

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s ATK is higher than or equal to 2400/3600, increases the DoT DMG dealt by 12%/24% respectively.

This set is made for Hysilens. Reaching 3600 Attack is not a problem for her, and the 24% DoT damage increase is quite massive.

    Option B

    Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise

    Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 10%. Meanwhile, the wearer’s ATK increases by an amount that is equal to 25% of the current Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum increase of 25%.

A quite underrated set for Hysilens, providing both Effect Hit Rate and Attack%. It is very handy especially for players that are missing a few Effect Hit Rate rolls on her.

    Option C

    Firmament_Frontline_Glamoth

    Firmament Frontline: Glamoth

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12%/18% more DMG.

A good placeholder set as it gives Attack and Damage%, provided Hysilens can reach the Speed threshold it demands.

    Option D

    Space Sealing Station

    Space Sealing Station

    • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by an extra 12%.

A good placeholder option for raw Attack.

    HSR Hysilens Teammates

Hysilens is primarily used in DoT archetype. There are two major versions of her team, either a triple DoT composition, or her plus Kafka plus either Cyrene or a teamwide buffer. In either cases, she still play out the same.

    DoT Units

    kafka

Kafka: Kafka is the best DoT support currently available in the game, as she can trigger DoT frequently. This is a massive boost in damage output to Hysilens, as she relies on DoT triggering to deal damage with her Zone.

    HSR Portrait Black Swan

Black Swan: Thanks to Hysilens’ ability to repeatedly apply DoT with very high frequency, she can stack Black Swan’s Arcana extremely quickly. Black Swan and Hysilens also boost each other’s damage via their teamwide debuffs, making this a deadly combo.

    jiaoqiu

Jiaoqiu: Jiaoqiu is a good supportive unit that can amplify the team’s damage while also being a DoT unit, albeit his DoT is relatively weak compared to Black Swan.

    HSR Portrait Sampo

Sampo: Sampo has a DoT retrigger ability on his E4, which can be a good budget option to help Hysilens deal damage.

    Amplifiers

    Cyrene

Cyrene: Cyrene has a unique buff for Hysilens that is extremely potent. This buff turns Hysilens into a consistent and fast DoT triggering unit by herself with her Basic / Skill, while also massively improving Hysilens’ Damage and Ultimate uptime. The main problem with this combination is that it takes very long for Cyrene to charge without Remembrance teammates, so players have to plan the rotation out carefully.

    Robin, Tribbie, Cipher, Ruan Mei

Teamwide Buffers (Robin, Tribbie, Cipher, Ruan Mei): These units all function in the same roles in the DoT team as teamwide buffers. Each of these units have certain edges over the other depending on the situation. Robin offers the most damage amplification, Tribbie is the best in AoE situations and can stagger advance with Dance Dance Dance, Ruan Mei offers utility via Break extension and teamwide Speed buff, and Cipher alleviates the DoT team backloaded via damage problem by frontloading stored damage with her Ultimate.

    Sustain

    dan heng

Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae: Dan Heng – Permansor Terrae grants a strong Attack buff for his Bondmate and has extremely powerful sustainability for fast-moving units, making him one of the best sustain options for the DoT team.

    HSR Portrait Huohuo

Huohuo: Huohuo provides teamwide Attack and Energy buff, both of which are extremely valuable for the DoT team, especially when paired with Energy-hungry units like Robin.

    HSR Hysilens Teams

There are a few versions of Hysilens’ team, but they all play out similarly. She can either run triple DoT or with Cyrene as a hypercarry. In both versions, Kafka remains her best teammate as her overall DoT support capacity is unmatched.

    Hysilens’s Premium DOT Team

    Hysilens’s Premium DOT Team

HSR Hysilens Pull Value and Conclusion

Due to how narrow her kit is, Hysilens has a clear pulling value. For DoT players, Hysilens is a much-needed upgrade to the DoT archetype that has been left on the sidelines for a while, bringing them incredible firepower that can compete with other top teams, albeit not quite at the highest level. As such, anyone looking to keep their DoT investments relevant should absolutely go for Hysilens, even if she does not fundamentally change how the archetype works.

For any players without an interest in DoT, or does not have at least Kafka to pair with Hysilens, she is a pretty easy skip.
