    Venti Guide

    Genshin Impact Venti Character Introduction

Venti is a Anemo bow user from Monstadt, and was the first limited character to be released in Genshin Impact. You might expect newer characters to powercreep Venti, but Venti still remains as one of the best characters in the game.

In this article, I’ll be going over everything you need to know about Venti, including his playstyle, best artifacts, weapons, teams, and more.

    Active Talents

    Normal Attack – Divine Marksmanship

Since Venti is mainly a Support / Sub DPS, you won’t be using his normal attacks much, if at all. His contribution to the team will mostly be from his Skill and Burst.

    Elemental Skill – Skyward Sonnet

This skill isn’t anything mind blowing, but it can be very useful to have for exploration. The damage is not a huge deal, but the skill does generate elemental particles, which is important for any character to charge their burst.

Being able to hold the skill to lift yourself is also great for reaching places you might not be able to normally.

Elemental Burst – Wind’s Grand Ode

Venti’s Burst is a one of a kind ability. Being able to suck up enemies into one spot makes clearing certain content extremely easily. It also makes him very useful while exploring as he can quickly bunch up enemies.

Constantly swirling and dealing Anemo damage is just a bonus on top of the ability.

    Venti Talent Priority

Here’s a quick talent priority for Venti.

Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill >>> Normal Attack

Overall, talent levels aren’t very important for Venti. Talents levels will provide some damage bonus, but there are other more important factors that contribute to damage. This would be things like Elemental Mastery or Character Level.

    Venti Best Combos

Venti doesn’t have too many combos, but here is a quick tip to save you some time:

    Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst

You can cancel the full animation of Venti’s Skill in order to cast his Burst. When the skill hits, it will generate energy particles. By quickly activating Burst, you will deplete your energy and absorb the particles generated by your skill.

This can save you a good amount of time compared to casting your Burst and then you Skill after.

    Passive Talents

    Ascension Stat

As you ascend Venti, he will gain Energy Recharge.

    1st Ascension

Embrace of Winds: Holding Skyward Sonnet creates an upcurrent that lasts for 20s.

This passive is great for exploration purposes. You can ride an upcurrent and use that to glide from a slightly higher point. You can also use this to reach things that are just out of reach above you.

    4th Ascension

Stormeye: Regenerates 15 Energy for Venti after the effects of Wind’s Grand Ode end. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, this also restores 15 Energy to all characters of that corresponding element.

Venti’s Burst will absorb and element and continuously swirl that element. By absorbing the an element from your team, you can help replenish their energy.

This also reduces the Energy Recharge you need on Venti to comfortably use his Burst off cooldown.

    Utility Passive

Windrider: Decreases all party member’s gliding Stamina Consumption by 20%.

    Constellations

    Genshin Impact Venti Full Wish

As a support unit, Venti doesn’t really need constellations to perform well. He does his job just fine at C0. Furthermore, C3 and C5 which increase talent levels help scale Venti’s damage if he’s running Atk and Crit based builds. Since we recommend an Elemental Mastery build on Venti, these constellations are somewhat wasted.

Venti’s 2nd constellation is somewhat noticeable, as it’s one of the few ways in the game to reduce Anemo RES. Constellation 6 also has a similar effect, which can synergize well with Anemo DPS units like Xiao or Kazuha C6.

    • C1: Low Impact
    • C2: Medium Impact
    • C3: Low Impact
    • C4: Low Impact
    • C5: Low Impact
    • C6: High Impact

    Constellation 1: Splitting Gales

Fires 2 additional arrows per Aimed Shot, each dealing 33% of the original arrow’s DMG.

    Constellation 2: Breeze of Reminiscence

Skyward Sonnet decreases enemy Anemo RES by 12% for 10s.
Enemies launched by Skyward Sonnet suffer an additional 12% Anemo RES and Physical RES decrease while airborne.

Constellation 3: Ode to Thousand Winds

Increases the Level of Wind’s Grand Ode by 3.
    Maximum upgrade level is 15.

    Constellation 4: Hurricane of Freedom

When Venti picks up an Elemental Orb or Particle, he receives a 25% Anemo DMG Bonus for 10s.

    Constellation 5: Concerto dal Cielo

Increase the Level of Skyward Sonnet by 3.
    Maximum upgrade level is 15.

    Constellation 6: Storm of Defiance

Targets who take DMG from Wind’s Grand Ode have their Anemo RES decreased by 20%.
If an Elemental Absorption occurred, then their RES towards the corresponding Element is also decreased by 20%.

    Playstyle

Venti doesn’t really have a particular playstyle as we don’t see him as a Main DPS character. What’s more important is assessing his synergies with other characters. Characters that can hit enemies while in Venti’s tornado will be the best pairings.

Some examples include but are not limited to: Ganyu, Ayaka, Ayato, Albedo, and many more.

As a support, Venti is one of the most unique in the game. There might not be a lot of content where he excels, but when he does, there’s nothing like it.

    Artifacts

    Viridescent Venerer

    Genshin Impact Viridescent Venerer

Viridescent Venerer, or VV for short, is the go to set for any Anemo character. Reducing Elemental RES is a huge DPS increase for other members on the team. Anemo characters are almost always included on a team because of this set.

Venti is no exception. Just make sure to swirl the correct element with Venti’s Burst to optimize your team’s DPS.

    Main Stats

Ever since the changes in Version 1.6, Anemo characters can now scale extremely easily with Elemental Mastery. Like most characters, you can scale Venti’s ability damage with things like ATK and Crit, but it’s simply more efficient to use Elemental Mastery. Because of this, our Anemo character builds will be using Elemental Mastery builds over Crit.

    • Circlet: Elemental Mastery
    • Sands: Elemental Mastery
    • Goblet: Elemental Mastery

    Sub Stats

Here’s the order of sub stats to prioritize:

    1. Elemental Mastery
    2. Energy Recharge
    3. ATK%
    4. Crit Rate / Crit DMG

For the Feather and Flower pieces, you will want to prioritize Elemental Master on the substats. For the other pieces, you really only need a bit of Energy Recharge and the Elemental Mastery main stat. This makes Anemo characters quite easy to build as they don’t require crazy substat luck.

    Energy Recharge: 200%

For Energy Recharge you can look to end up around 200% to safely burst off cooldown. This includes things like Venti’s talents and Ascension stats.

    Weapons

    5-Star Weapons

    Elegy for the End

This is our only recommendation for Venti 5 star weapons. Most 5 star weapons are great because they have high base stats with ATK and other stats. However, since Venti mainly will scale with Elemental Mastery (in this build), you won’t need the high base ATK. Elegy for the End is great as Venti’s signature weapon. It will provide a buff to the team which is great on a support build. The bonus stats of Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery are also the two stats wanted for Venti. Overall, this weapon is a great choice, but not necessary to do well.

    4-Star Weapons

    The Stringless

This weapon is the best weapon for damage on Venti. The stats and bonus on this weapon are perfect for Anemo damage. Elemental Mastery is great, and buffing up Skill and Burst damage is all you need for Venti. As you approach R5 on this weapon, it will outperform others in damage.

    Windblume Ode

This is another solid option if you don’t have Stringless or your Stringless is low refinement. This is an event weapon, though, so if you don’t have it now, you won’t be able to get it. But if you have this weapon at R5, it’s a great option for Venti. Make sure to use your Skill before your Burst to get the weapon effect onto your Burst.

    Favonius Warbow

This option is mainly for the Energy Recharge substat. If you have bad stats on your artifacts, you can use this weapon to get more Energy Recharge. Being able to burst off cooldown is important for rotations.

    Teams

Since Venti is a very flexible support, he doesn’t have very many specific teams that are highlighted. He can fit into any team that is looking to deal Elemental damage which are most teams in the game. Even still, here are some stand out examples where Venti can thrive.

    Quadratic Scaling

This is a term that refers to something that deals more damage the more enemies there are. This scales the same way the function x2 does.

Ganyu: The meta character with the best quadratic scaling synergy with Venti is Ganyu. Ganyu’s burst has quadratic scaling. Since Venti’s burst groups many enemies together, this will make Ganyu’s burst deal insane amounts of damage. Even after Ganyu’s Burst, you can easily hit enemies with Charged Shot while enemies are sucked up in Venti’s burst.

    Freeze Teams

We’ve already talked about how Ganyu is amazing with Venti, but Venti is also an amazing partner with Ayaka, the other powerful Cryo DPS.

Ayaka: Like Ganyu, Ayaka’s Burst will hit enemies in Venti’s Burst. It does not scale as well as Ganyu’s, but the damage is already very powerful. Another synergy Ayaka has is that her Charged Attacks will hit enemies inside of Venti’s burst.

Because of these two, Venti is a great support with two of the most powerful Main DPS units in the game.

    Flexibility

Venti is a great support for many teams. Teams that use reactions like Electrocharged, Vaporize, Melt, etc can all benefit from Venti. The main thing to consider is whether you can hit enemies within his burst. Even if you can’t, the Burst will still deal solid DPS, and enemies being sucked up in one spot is beneficial even after the Burst ends.

    Summary

This wraps up just about everything you need to know to play and build Venti. Are there other details or things you can learn, of course. This guide is simply meant to cover the essentials.

Venti is the first limited character in the game, and the Anemo Archon. He is a character that will make certain content extremely easy and fun. You won’t ever need him to complete content, but he can make your life a lot easier. Alongside Kazuha, Venti is one of the best Anemo supports in the game. This alone makes him a valuable addition to any account.
