6 More Skins That Are Banned in Pro Play

6 More Skins That Are Banned in Pro Play

Did you know that there are some skins that pros cannot use in professional League of Legends? In fact, there are a lot of skins that are not allowed to be used in pro play for various reasons, including animations, availability and colours.

League has over 1500 skins, with all champions having at least one other skin, with Lux and Miss Fortune each having 17 skins to date. Because there is such a large number of skins in the game, it is hard to keep track of all the banned skins in pro play. Unfortunately, Riot has not provided a list of every skin that is banned in professional League of Legends. However, they have given slight hints here and there about certain skins not being enabled in pro play.

If you want to learn how to play any of the champions on the list, head over to the Mobalytics site.

6 More Skins That Are Banned in Pro Play

    1. Star Guardian Syndra
    2. Grey Warwick
    3. Fuzz Fizz
    4. DJ Sona
    5. Battlecast Kog’Maw
    6. Project Ashe

    1. Star Guardian Syndra

The first skin on our new list of banned skins is Star Guardian Syndra. This skin is a unique skin that was first released back in 2017.

Star Guardian Syndra is a very unique skin and is not like the other Syndra skins around. There are only a few Syndra skins allowed in pro play. The reason is that her Q colours and animations are different, which makes it harder for spectators to see her abilities.

Personally, I feel that this is one of the worse Syndra skins. I prefer the Snow Day Syndra skin as the animations are much smoother and more pleasing to the eyes.

    2. Grey Warwick

If you’re an honourable player, you might have Grey Warwick. Grey Warwick is a somewhat rare skin which you can obtain from being honor 5. This updated skin was released back in 2017.

The animations on this skin are nothing special. The skin isn’t even that good compared to many of his other skins. The reason this skin is banned in pro play is that users cannot buy this skin: they can only earn it.

I have and will not ever miss seeing users use Grey Warwick.

    3. Fuzz Fizz

In our previous article, we talked about skins from special events. Fuzz Fizz is another champion from said event. Fuzz Fizz is a skin that is a part of the April Fools event that was held in 2019.

There are 2 versions of this skin, and each is banned in pro play. The animations are a lot different to his other skins, and his Ultimate is much harder to see. These are some of the issues regarding him being banned. However, the exclusivity of the skin is probably a good reason too.

I don’t care that this skin is banned in pro play. It’s not like we ever see Fizz anyway. I find dealing with this skin quite problematic in Solo Queue and in normals.

    4. Dj Sona

The 4th skin on our list is Dj Sona. This is an Ultiamte skin that was released in 2015. This is one of the first skins in the game where you can completely adjust how the champion looks.

Because you can change how she looks, it is probably the reason that she is banned in competitive play. The different looks, animations, and big differences between her visuals make it hard for the user and the potential casters to see what is what.

I don’t know if I miss this skin not being in pro play. There are better Sona skins around, and even though it costs 3k RP, I don’t think it’s her best skin.

    5. Battlecast Kog’Maw

This Battlecast Kog’Maw skin is one of the most difficult to play against. Battlecast Kog’Maw is a very obnoxious skin and quite difficult to play against. Since its release in 2015, it has been dominating normal games but not pro-play.

As I’ve stated, it is really difficult to play against. This skins animation are really hard to dodge. The Ultimate is near impossible to see, which often leaves you getting hit by it, or at least that is my excuse.

I am happy that this skin is not allowed in pro play. I think it is a pay-to-win skin as it is so hard to see some of his abilities.

    6. Project Ashe

The final skin on our list is Project Ashe. This skin is very nice, and it is personally one of my favourite Ashe skins. It was released in 2016

The animations on this skin make it unusable in pro play. The E animation is very different and hard to see. The Ultimate hitbox and animation are also quite different, which makes it harder to react to.

I personally feel that this skin is pay-to-win due to its animations. I guess with it being banned; I am somewhat correct.

    Fin

That is the end of another list of skins that are banned in pro-play. What do you think of our list? Are we missing any more? We are, but do you know of any other banned skins? Let us know below. As always, you can find tips, counters and more information on these champions with their Mobalytics champion page.
